The need for paddle and recreation access along the Lackawaxen River was identified as a prime need in the Wayne County Trail Feasibility Study. Currently, very limited access exists, as there are long stretches of private land on both sides. An access along State Route 6 in White Mills was identified by the study as a potential site and was encouraged by the Fish and Boat Commission. Thanks to a generous easement by the landowner, Woodland Design Associates have been able to design the project and it has been partially funded.
